Here’s a tip: If you’re arguing with women and sexual assault survivors about rape culture and you feel the need to argue something ‘just in a textbook sense,’ instead try shutting the fuck up forever. Nobody cares about your goddamn hyper-specific semantic distinction, whatever the fuck it even is. We don’t care about “more than meets the eye” when what meets the eye is a bunch of women getting fucking raped all the time. When your neighbor’s house is on fire, you don’t point out to him that some people also die from drowning. You give him the goddam hose. In its least malicious form, that’s what men’s rights is: a group of people arrogent enough to think they’re raising the level of discourse, when really they’re just annoying everybody.
